Lights Out Gallery, Celebration Barn, and PAI are collaborating to organize an exhibition and performance event for October 2026 at Celebration Barn in South Paris, Maine. The call is open to all artists that utilize performance in lens based or live form in their practice. LIVE/LENS at Celebration Barn will feature lens base performance work as well as live performances. We encourage and invite work that considers the mission and space of Celebration Barn and can include existing work or a proposal for a performance during our October 3 event.

Submission Guidelines

Exhibition Dates: October 2026 with a performance event October 3 (exact dates TBD)

How to Apply: Applications will be accepted online through PAI’s google form.

Applications will be accepted from August 24 - September 9, 2026.

• Complete the application. Please provide your contact information, including, email, phone number and website.

• Submit a current resume/CV PDF. Please title file: Lastname_resume.

• Submit a current artist statement PDF. Please do not exceed 200 words. Please title file: Lastname_statement

• Work in all mediums created that utilize performance in some way will be considered. For video, live performance, sound or installation works, we are happy to work with you on the physical layout of the space and interaction with other works.

• Upload up to 5 images, video and/or audio clips. Up to two of the images may be details.

File formats accepted: jpg, pdf, mp3, mp4, mov. Images must be 1920 pixels on the longest side (72dpi). Audio and video files must not exceed 10mb. Links to video are also accepted. Please add these to the image/media list.

Please title files: number_last name_title_year of work. Works must be numbered in the order you would like them viewed. For numbers 1-9, please add a zero in front. For example: 01_Doe_Untitled_2022.jpg or 02_Doe_Untitled_detail_2022.jpg.

• Submit an image/media description list PDF, including title, date, medium, and dimensions in inches (height x width x depth) in numerical order corresponding with the uploaded images. You may also include a brief background description (50 words or less) related to the images and any special installation requirements. Please title file: Lastname_imagelist

Works submitted must be available for the duration of the exhibition if selected. If submitting a proposal, representative work examples may be submitted if noted on the image description list.

Work must be exhibition ready. Artists are responsible for the delivery and pick up of their work to and from South Paris.
